i received an essay prompt today that asked me to find a piece of art and evaluate whether it was a true piece of artwork. i was asked to question its authenticity, and while i haven't exactly picked out a piece of art yet (i'm thinking either a song or a music video) i was deeply moved by one of the articles we were asked to base our paper on. the article titled "Art and Sincerity" by Leo Tolstoy changed my opinion about art. here's a little excerpt.
